Hello jjbeaty, welcome to Cruise-Chat!

I have in the past without any problems. I get the refillable (heavy plastic) water bottles. The tap water in your bathroom is filtered and safe to drink if you want to refill them.

Thank you, Sonny. It can't hurt to try! Cheaper than purchasing a soda package!

We always drink the water on the ship as it taste great. There is no need to buy bottle water. Just bring a empty bottle and fill it up on the ship as we do.

My wife usually packs at least two of the sports bottle and fills with water and ice to bring to the pool side; stays nice and cold and also when we go off ship.
We have always found the ships water to be very good.

Soda is not free, however, there is coffee, tea, lemonade or fruit punch, and juice at breakfast that is free. If you want to bring some soda, they will allow a reasonable amount (like a 6 pack).

In MY opinion, soda package is WAY over priced and SO not worth the extra expense. I'm fairly sure that you can buy a can of soda at one of the pool area bars, and others, for around $2.50@ can. Unless you drink a TON of soda (at about 5oz a time due to the size of the refillable cooler cup they hand out), you're better off buying a can or two per day. Each person in your party has to buy the soda package, as it cannot be shared with another

You can bring water and soda on, I do all the time. I am a Pepsi drinker, and all the ships carry Coke products. A six pack of Pepsi, and it makes the cruise even more of my favorite things. I also have bought water packages and brought water on, whatever is easier for me. The water on the ship is fine to drink, but if bottled water is a vice, than that's one most can live with. Just recycle! Cans all over make that easy! I throw the empty water bottles in my beach bag going to the pool, lots of containers there, and then pick up my towels.

Just to point out - RCI recently expanded their list of banned items to include all personal beverages to include soda. I'm not saying they are confiscating it as they do alcohol, but the policy now gives them confiscation authority for soft drinks too. Read it HERE
