Default Good hotel to stay in San Juan
Hi,
Thanks to all your help, I have booked my first ever cruise to Southern Caribbean - Serenade of the seas.

Now, I need more help from this forum..

What is a good hotel to stay in San Juan. We are arriving the previous night of the cruise around 9pm. So need a good hotel for a good night sleep. Preferably close to the port.. Which one would you recommed?

Also, what is the earliest time i can board the ship without too much waiting in the line? Ship leaves at 8:30pm.

Thanks,
Jay.

From looking at expedia, these are the hotels I am considering..
Courtyard by Marriott San Juan Miramar
Courtyard by Marriott San Juan Isla Verde
Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel & Casino
Holiday Inn Express San Juan

This is just for sleeping - so Amenities/Beach is not a consideration. Only consideration is it should be clean and shd be close to the airport/port..

Please advise.

Hi Jayasesh
Perhaps a little more info is needed but remember to see where the hotels are located in ref to the cruiseport because if they do not provide free transfers to hotel and then to the ship on the day of your cruise, transportation can be expensive...You did not mention how many rooms you would need or what range $$ your are willing to spend. You can usually board earlier then your docs state and we do so almost always..It would depend if you want to do some touring the day of your cruise.

Hampton Inn Isle Verde is also a good place to stay. Unless it's changed, I don't believe hotels in Puerto Rico provide shuttles. Taxis from SJU airport aren't that expensive and are based on zones. They're cheaper than taking a taxi from Miami to the pier. It's approximately $19 from the airport to the Royal Caribbean pier for up to 5 people. They do charge $1 per bag.

Thanks! I booked the Best Western at the airport.
It is just for sleeping at night. We are hoping to board the ship as soon as we check out.. Not taking any excursions.

Since we are arriving late, I thought it wld be better if I get a hotel at the airport itself..
