Room service

Hello:
My husband and I are first time cruisers and we are excited about going. We are going on Navagator of the Seas. We have a balcony room on the 10th floor and a friend of ours told us to make sure to have our breakfast on the deck. My question is: there is a gradituty for this service so do we pay the person that delivers the meal or is it put on our tab? If anyone has any helpful hints they can share with us we would appriciate them. We are eager to know as much as we can before the trip.

It is customary to tip the room service person for each delivery, but also note that RCI charges a delivery fee of $3.95 for room service between midnight and 5am and that includes the tip. For a breakfast delivery after 5 am I would give the crew member $3 at least. This is a very busy time for them and they don't stop moving for several hours as the breakfast orders come pouring in. It is a good idea to bring a good supply of dollar bills along on a cruise for this type of thing.
