We just found out last night that RCI elected to drop a 5:30 show that they had scheduled on the Allure. They then rescheduled everyone that had made reservations for the show to another time. They apparently did not bother to look and see if the guests had anything else scheduled during the rescheduled time. We are now double booked and we will now have to stand in line when we get on the Allure to get a show rebooked. We have been loyal to RCI for several years and this is not the first problem that we have had. I don't expect anything to be perfect, but RCI needs to get their act together.
It may be beyond their control if it is a show at the Aqua Theater. The equipment can be troublesome since it is unique and repair parts have to be custom built. Is the show in question on the first day of the cruise?
In that case I don't know what could have happened. It is not normal for them to do this. But I'll also say that the ice show they present (while good) is just a variation on the same format they've used since the concept started on the Voyager 12 years ago. If you've seen an ice show on RCI before you will find the one on Allure to be quite familiar.
In other words, if I had to set a priority between conflicting shows I'd drop the ice show first. Just my personal choice.
Yes, if it is the ice show it's good, really good considering small rink etc.............but not that good!! Have a drink in the bar instead, go for a walk round the promenade deck, feel the wind in your hair, smell the sea, read a book.......there will be plenty of other shows to see!!
