I would call back and check on the status of the waitlist. I booked a cruise and the seating that we requested was unavailable so we were put on a waitlist. The next day I called back and they told me there wasnít a waitlist and that they would accommodate our request. Itís worth a shot.

I double checked on the website. My time dining is now closed for our cruise. As we have prepaid our gratutities, I thought I might have a word with Maitre D when we board. You never know. If you don't ask you don't get!

By the way, as it's our 30th Wedding anniversary during the cruise, thought we would do a speciality restaurant. Would you do Chops or Portofino's?

I'm partial to Chops but then an Italian dinner is probably more romantic to some.

I was on Brilliance of the Seas in the Mediterranean on a 12-nt in December 2009 when they first started the Mongolian. It was excellent on the Brilliance. They had beef, chicken, and shrimp, and then all the various vegetables, etc. You picked out your choices on your plate and when you handed it to the chef to grill and he asked if you wanted hot, sweet, or mild sauce. It was delicious. On the short Monarch of the Seas cruise they didn't have the shrimp. Each ship does it slightly different but it has been good on all the ships.

Some people walk by the Mongolian thinking it is a salad bar. They don't have it every night that's why I be sure to talk to the Chef on the first day and ask which night they'll have it. On a 12-nt they might have it more than twice.

I think you're in for a pleasant surprise if you have dinner in the Windjammer.
