baltimore cruise

sailing out of Baltimore next Christmas to the caribbean, can anyone tell me how the first couple of days at sea will be, Is the water rough.

Hey Coolman and welcome to cruise chat. I have never cruised out of the NE in the Atlantic but I would think that the first day could be a little rougher than sailing from Fl ports. We have even encountered some rough seas the first nite out of Puerto Rico as it is on the Atlantic side. That being said, the ships today with the great stabilizers help out with this. In any event it will be happy sailings to you.

I've cruised out of New York in winter and it wasn't bad at all. The ocean wasn't significantly rougher than some Florida sailings. It was cold outdoors for a couple of days, but people were still sitting on deck chairs (with a jacket or sweater), walking and jogging outdoors.

Baltimore is a day closer to warmth than New York. Also, if the past continues to hold true, December isn't such a bad month weather-wise in this area. I think you'll be fine.
