Looking for complimentary beverages
I am traveling in March with my 2 daughters. We are all Diamond cruisers I believe (12 cruises on RCCL). Most of their cruising was done when they were under 21 and my husband and I do not drink. Now that everyone is legal my daughters are asking about any diamond perks/lounges/welcome aboard receptions, etc., where they can get a glass of wine if they would like (young career women on very tight budgets). As a non-drinker I have no idea and have never paid any attention to such things--I thought I saw champagne at the captains gala on the prominade, but don't remember that either.

It depends on the ship. If you are on a ship that has a Diamond lounge then there will be a nightly Diamond event with complimentary beer, wine and select cocktails. If the ship does not have a Diamond lounge then there will be a nightly Diamond event with complimentary champagne and wine and a 25% discount off beer and cocktails.

Enjoy your Cruise!

They usually have the evening diamond event from 5:30 to 8:30 to accomodate the dinner seatings.

Which ship will you be going on?

We will be on the Independence of the Seas for the March 10 sailing. We have been on the Liberty and Freedom previously and loved the ships. It was a good deal but still after my daughter paid for air fare (not a good deal) her "spending money" is diminished.

We were on the Independence for an 8-night cruise in December and the ship was in very nice condition.

The crew was still trying to adjust to the Caribbean after sailing out of England for two years but it sounds like they have settled in now.

Then you'll have the 'real' diamond lounge every night on deck 14 with complimentary full bar service and snacks.

Thanks for the help! Not something I had to think about previously.
