Diamond status and marriage

My daughter is going to marry a non-cruiser (yes, a mixed marriage, yikes) and she is a Diamond member--does he get her status or does he have to work his way up on his own?

Yes, He should become a Diamond member once they are married. I'm not sure what is required to inform RCCL.

Congrats on the marriage.

He will get diamond status since RCI gives the highest level that either spouse has to both of them. However I am not sure when he'd get it since he has never cruised with RCI and therefore has no C&A membership account. She will likely need to call the C&A desk. I'd think the worst case scenario would be that on their first cruise they would go to the loyalty ambassador and they would activate an account and give him a new cruise card. But maybe for married couples they will open an account before the first cruise.

But the important thing is he won't have to work his way up to it. I just made Diamond Plus and my wife's account was automatically upgraded even though she was not on the cruise and didn't get the points.

Status

I sure hope the new spouse gets the correct status. My wife and I have cruised together on every cruise, but her status has always lagged behind mine by one level. This has been the case on our last three trips, and I've asked and complained on every one. I'm hoping, since they claim that there are two computer systems abd that they don't talk to each other, that someone has told the computers that input equals output, and that the C&A associate onboard Voyager last year has straightened this problem out. Since we just bumper over into Diamond status, I'd like our next cruise to have the correct status printed on her Sea Pass card. My really only "bugged" about RCCL.
