Has anyone been on the Brilliance OTS lately? Has she had any of the upgrades that Radience OTS had done a year or so ago? I've been talking up this class of ship to two other couples who have also booked the repositioning cruise this October 27th, but they've been asking questions I can't answer yet. Jane and I LOVED Radience when we sailed two Marches ago, and I know she was upgraded before she went to Aussyland. Just wondering-am already jumping out of my skin (saggy tho it is) waiting to get onboard.......

My information is that Brilliance enters the shipyard in May for the upgrades.

I was on her for two weeks in December. No upgrades, but she is in beautiful shape. The ship's crew was fantastic! What she didn't have compared to the upgraded ships she made up with the crew members.

SonnyV, I'm glad she's a great ship-we really liked Radiance, and am looking forward to the comparisions. Dave, thats great to hear-we've been on Liberty adn Radiance months before they both went ahead with upgrades; be kinda nice to be on one that just had hers!

Dave, when they firm up the news about Brilliance going into dry dock, would you please post something?

Sure thing. The usual method is the cruise line triumphantly announces the completion of a dry dock period but whatever news I get I will post.

BTW, has anyone be able to do this; there are three couples (we, and two others) who are all going on Brilliance in October. I booked through the RCL "Vacation Specialist" on the phone (as they call themselves). I want to be able to somehow get the three couples, each of whom have their OWN reservation, to be able to eat that the same table each night for dinner. We're all doing our "own" thing during the day, but we'd like to eat together at the end of the day and catch up. Should this be a problem? Should or can I do this thru the specialist, or wait until we get on the ship? I'd guess that waiting until we get on the ship would be harder, since possibly three other tables would be moved around and messed with. Any ideas?

You need to get the other reservation numbers and have them cross-referenced with yours.

Jim, we are also on that sailing. We were lucky enough to land a Aft cabin 8672. will you be dressing up for Halloween? Last year we were on a TA and were worried about the weight of our luggage so we did'nt, so this time we will be.

Are you doing the traditional early or late set dining time? If so, then as Dave says get the reservation numbers of the other couples and have them cross referenced to your booking. If you are doing My Time Dining you could make reservations for a table for six when you get on the ship or when the dining reservations open up for your sailing do it on line.
