I never knew about this until these two people advuise me about this. The last time we went the check in agent at the airport made sure that the ship luggage tags were on each suitcase before she put it on the belt.
Ah, that is good advice. I was wondering whether or not to do that, in case the baggage scanners misread the tag, even though I know it would just get hand scanned (barcode scanners at the airport reading the luggage tag instead of the airline tag). Those of you that are interested, here is a link showing the basics of what happens after you drop your luggage at the ticket counter. This is for the Seattle airport (Sea-Tac, as the locals call it), but it's probably similar at most airports.

I remember the days all baggage tags were color coded. Now with the barcode they are all white. My bags didn't make it home from my last cruise and with that barcode the agent at my home airport new exactly where my bag was and it came in the next day and was delivered to my home. In the past we wold wait to add the cruise line tags at the pier "wrong" they should be added before you go so they do know to bring them to the correct ship. Great remember to be sure to put them on at home.

We planned this trip on the Allure 15 months in advance to make sure we got what we wanted. My oldest daughter is graduating from high school and will be a division I college runner starting this summer, so I figured it may be one of the last chances for all five of us to cruise together for a while.

I wish I could have a few more trips booked to ease the pain of returning, however, I had to use over 20 days of vacation in December/January when my Dad was in the hospital (he passed away in January) and I don't have too much to spare right now.

Oh well, one of these days, we will meet up on a RC ship and the celebration will be awesome. Perhaps I will be diamond by then!

Take care,
