The two day delay will put some stress on the local nurseries in south Florida who are contracted to fill Central Park with plants and trees.

Well, at least they will now know how she handles if they have to skirt a hurricane. Better than finding out with a ship full of passengers.

It says something for both the stability of the she and the athletic abilities of the skaters that they can practice skating in those kind of seas.

Responding to media inquiries which were stoked by rumors, RCI has confirmed that a couple of the lifeboats on Oasis have been damaged by the high waves and wind. RCI says it is minimal damage and they will be repaired in Port Everglades, and it will not impact any preview sailings.

Seas have calmed down for a few days now, and the Oasis is making 20 to 23 knots. Today's update from the bridge includes two retired Royal Caribbean Captains who were invited to make the journey.

BTW, there are some nicknames showing up on the Oasis blogs. Captain Wright is now called "Captain Storm" because of the rough weather they encountered. And, they tried out so many things on the Liberty Of The Seas (among other ships too) that the Liberty is known at "Test Of The Seas" at RCI headquarters.

Here is the link

Oh, and for those interested, when the one Captain says the Oasis is stable because she has a "GM of 6 meters", he is referring to it's Metacentric Height

Today's update has Captain Bill giving a tour of the bridge, which he says is more advanced than even the U.S. Navy's. We also see an overview of the Turku, Finland, shipyard which built this amazing ship.
