Luggage Tags

34 Days Till I sail again!!!!!! But who's counting; ME!!!
I reveived, or was able to obtain, luggage tags for our up-coming trip. Since I'd heard they had done away with them, I'm going to assume that because I have a GS, they are available to suite guests. As such, would that apply to a JS, or like the concierge club, that applies to GS or above?
And, I read somewhere, or heard, that the porters can make tags for your cabin, at the embarkation port. A) Is this true, and if so, B) is there a charge?; other than normally tipping the porters at the curb

Luggage tags can only be ordered by those in GS or above, or Pinnacle Club members regardless of their cabin category. I think agents can order them for anyone but it incurs an extra fee.

Porters have always been able to tag bags. It used to be just regular tags that they'd write your name and cabin number on. However, on our Oasis cruise in June, since we'd been upgraded to a GS the tags I had printed out were no longer any good, so the porter had to give me new ones. They seem to go to a little more trouble now and have blank tags with the ship outline on them so they can highlight which part of the deck your cabin is located. This is due to the luggage loading process used. Those with RCI tags know what I am referring to.

Your luggage should also be expedited and arrive at your GS sooner than normal.

Thanks Dave. Since this will be our first cruise since RCL stopped offering tags, I had not bene aware that porters had been able to make tags. Traveling with six other new cruisers who each have standard balcony cabins, and wanted to inform them properly about the tags and porters.

It's very easy to print a luggage tag from the website. You just fold the paper and staple it. It's also easy to just have the porters make them. I've forgotten, is this your repo cruise?
hope your new cruiser love it as much as you do!

I always travel with some of the self-adhesive address labels that you get in the mail all the time from Charities wanting donations. That way if I get a porter luggage tag I can just stick an address label on the blank tag. The address labels also come in handy on any form that ask for your name/address.

Cruise Fanatic,
I think that is a nice little tip to bring those address labels with you. When I print mine out I also put the address label on the baggage tags. After I fold them I also put clear shipping tape over them to make them stronger so they can't tear off so easy.

Maybe if the stars align, LisaP and I can stand on the shore and wish you bon voyage

Not sure how far away your sail date is, but I found these on amazon.com. I bought a pack of these, as well as the pack of the wider ones, which are here.

They're easy to attach to your suitcase. You may have to adjust the folding instructions slightly for the paper tag to display the information properly inside the plastic tag. I used the wider ones on my last Princess cruise.
