Is this acceptable? I feel like I can save a TON of packing space if I'm allowed to wear jeans for casual night..

Thanks in advance!

RCI used to say "no jeans" in the dining room but I have not seen that wording in the Cruise Compass's on our last few RCI cruises. Sometimes it depends on the itinerary, but for the Liberty Of The Seas the only things mentioned as "verboten" on casual nights are shorts and tank tops. As long as the jeans are presentable (no tears, holes, etc.) you will be fine.

I was on the Adventure last week and was surprised to see a woman in jeans and a tank top on formal night. I saw her go into the dining room and did not see her leave right after, so I assumed that was acceptable. Hummmm!

So much for Formal Night...It has been slipping over the past few years....but then I guess it's a personal choice...A sports coat isn't too much to ask for.....Happy Sailing anyway..

From a recent Cruise Compass...

"please note that bare feet, short pants, and tank tops are not permitted at dinner." It says nothing about jeans not being allowed.

And a please from me...let's not start another endless debate about dining room attire. The question was asked, and answered with information from RCI literature. And it was a question about casual nights, not formal nights.

I have cruised RCCL a couple of times now and I guess the only real casual night in the diningroom will be the first night - when not everyone has their luggage - so sure it was appropriate that night to wear jeans to dinner but every other night I really do not remember seeing people wearing jeans. Dockers pants in dark or light colors maybe for men. Dress pants for women with a nice sweater or blouse fine too on all other nights if you do not want to wear dress or skirt. If you want to wear jeans to dinner, the less formal dining venue on the ship is available for any type of clothing. Just my opinion but it is very nice to see everyone have some pride in their appearance at dinner in the diningroom.
