For my flight home after the cruise, the earliest I can do online check-in is 24 hours in advance. I can also prepay baggage fees at this time, which will be $5 less per bag than doing it at the airport. However, I will be on the cruise. I know RC has Internet access at $0.55 a minute, but I doubt they have printing capabilities for printing boarding passes.

So what have the rest of you done about this? Do you just wait till you get to the airport to check-in? I'd like to check-in online so I can save some money on baggage fees.

The internet cafes all have a printer. The boarding pass is printed on regular paper, just like the ones I print at home. The airline doesn't care, all they want is the bar code. I always print my boarding passes while on cruises. It is a ritual on the afternoon of the last day.

However, you'll still need to get luggage tags at the airport. As long as you are doing that you can reprint boarding passes if the form size is important to you.

The Internet area on the cruise ship has printers?

The Internet area on the cruise ship has printers?
Yes. Usually just one printer. You may have to look for it depending on the ship. It may be in a cubby hole but it is a network printer for the cafe.

Also, depending on the airline it is possible to check-in and pay for your luggage without having to print boarding passes. Lots of people check in via smart phones for example.

Go here for a tour of the Serenade. Click on the area in the middle of the ship and go to royalcaribbean online and you'll see an HP 5000 printer sitting on the table in the background.
