paying for parking

I have read that ships going out of Port Canaveral pay their parking up front. Has this changed at other ports as well? We went out of Miami last October and we still paid after the cruise. Also does anyone know what the rate is per day now>? I'm hearing $10 or $12 the most.

We are sailing from Baltimore in Sept. I've been told we must pay up front and it has to be in cash or traveller's cheques. No credit cards. Also it's $10. per day.

I am pretty sure that lots serving primarily cruise passengers will charge up-front, while lots serving other types of parking clientele charge whent he automobile departs the lot. This is probably true because cruise passengers know when they are going to leave the lot and the lot can collect when entering.

$10 per day seems to be the going rate just about everywhere I have cruised from.
