Official word from Royal Caribbean, that I'll summarize below. Please continue to check Royal Caribbean for updates.
Enchantment of the Seas (Aug. 26 sailing): - St. Thomas canceled for Monday, Samana Dominican Republic will be substituted; Labadee planned for Tuesday before the ship has 3 consecutive sea days on its way back to Baltimore.
Oasis of the Seas (Aug. 28 sailing): St. Thomas and St. Maarten canceled, replaced with Costa Maya (Wednesday) and Cozumel (Thursday).
Oh dear. I wasnt aware of a their being storms in the Caribbean at the moment!! Im on the Oasis Of THe Seas cruise setting off 11th September - really hope we'll be ok!
Not to worry. If there's a storm in the area, Royal Caribbean will reroute your ship away from it, as it did with Enchantment, Oasis and Freedom (see below) this week.
There are a couple other changes not listed. Here they are as of 10:00 am Eastern Time on August 31.
Monarch of the Seas (August 30 sailing) - skipped Coco Cay, and is heading directly to Nassau. Will stay in Nassau until midnight Wednesday, then have a day at sea Thursday before returning to Port Canaveral Friday, as scheduled.
Majesty of the Seas (August 30 sailing) - Extended stay in Key West until early tomorrow. It will spend the remainder of tomorrow at sea, and arrive in Nassau on Thursday, September 2. It will return to Miami on Friday, September 3, as scheduled.
Those concerned need to check the Royal Caribbean link provided by Lisa. They'll update it. There is no need for forum members to copy and paste updates from the RCI website. This actually causes confusion since people have to wade through messages which will be outdated within a day.
To add to what Dave said, I will be posting only brief, significant updates. Please continue to use the link provided above for the most current information from RCI. None of us can be here around the clock, and we don't want to clutter the thread with minor changes such as skipping private islands.
Hi all... just got off the oasis and am currently waiting at fll. We were re-routed as mentioned. Good cruise considering the changes. Capt informed the passengers during the safety drill that we would be going to Costa maya and cozumel instead of our eastern route. There was some booing that I could not understand...lol...really? Sunny Mexico or hurricane weather. Great cruise...great weather in Mexico. Ship was incredible but kinda missed the personal touches. Will post more later as my texting skills are limited.
