Hi everyone, we had a great time on Liberty. I want to thank all of you for your posts. Being a first time cruiser your posts made me aware of what to expect on the trip. My wife was surprised how prepared we were for an enjoyable trip. The only thing that caught me off gaurd was the humidity in Miami. I used 4 shirts in 2 days so I bought a couple extra in Miami & St Martin to offset that. The locals in Labadee were far more agressive than I had suspected. It made us feel very uncomfortable and we got out of the fle market area as fast as we could. Also the Miami airport resembles a zoo. The lines were endless. But all in all a great 25th anniversary trip.

Welcome back LesPaul!

Glad you had a great time on the Liberty and a great 25th anniversary cruise! If you are not used to humidity it can be quite a surprise. How was the food and entertainment? Thanks for your report.

The food was great. Steak was available everynight. Lobster one night, Prime Rib twice. Our waiter was absolutely outstanding. We really enjoyed the shows and live bands. Not a bad experience to be had on this trip.

I was impressed by the food on our recent Grandeur cruise too. It is rare for me to clean my plate but I was even eating all my veggies. We also had prime rib twice. It was perfectly prepared and quite tender.

Maybe it a new RCCL trend. On my last cruise in February I was impressed with the food, but I thought it was because the Independence was a new ship. I guess I'll find out in October.

Welcome back LesPaul Sounds like your anniversary cruise was an overall success. In my opinion, the humidity in south Florida is much worse than in the islands. They built so many high rises up along the coast that they block all the trade winds, at least in the islands you get some breeze off of the ocean. I was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, and know that humidity all too well. It used to be you'd get out of a shower and dry off only to be wet again before you put on your clothes

Sure hope this cruise has turned you into an addict like the rest of us. Can't wait to see what you'll choose for your next one!

Food wise: It takes very little to impress me. I am thrilled with fresh hot food that I did not have to cook myself. I would never dream of complaining about any fare I have eaten on any ship I have been on. However, the food in March of 09 on the AOS was my least favorite. It is the first time I ever felt a meat was "dry" or a vegetable "mushy". I also lament the loss of the pasta bar--although its replacement with salad was delicious--I do miss the pasta and toppings.

Sorry to hear that; we were on Adventure in April of this year and we found the food very acceptable, smaller portions (2nds avail)just a little off from other cruises with presentations.
