The family rooms are about the same size as a junior suite, but the difference is the balcony. Where some of the cabin size of a junior suite is taken up with a balcony, the family staterooms have no balcony so it offers much more cabin space. Although they are extremely nice, they are located all the way forward and offer only a limited view. If you encounter rough seas the cabins far forward can experience some pitch and roll. With all that said, I think they are a great bargain, as opposed to the necessity of booking 2 cabins for a family.
