why do they list your Crown and Anchor status on the luggage tags
Priority delivery I guess. This is the first time I've had tags with the C&A status on them. The Oasis terminal at Port Everglades is supposed to be set up with suite/diamond/diamond plus guests being more segregated than usual, so that might play into it.
Dave,
I have a question about luggage tags. We did Enchantment last Sep. and I received my docs via email. Our tags were quite small and really not printable. Your tags for Oasis seem like the ones they used to mail. Did you simply print them from an efile?
We are on Oasis Feb. 6. Can't wait. But it does appear that it may be more important to have the ones they send for zoning, etc.
I see that you've already received your luggage tags for your cruise in December. How far in advance should we expect to receive them? Or is it solely based on when we check in? And if so, how early should we check in? (our cruise is Jan.3)
Also, should we apply the cruise luggage tags to our bags before we fly to Miami or after we arrive in Miami - since we are flying down a day early? Will the tags be safe thru flight and in good shape for the cruise lines?
Check in now. There is no reason to wait. As I said, I got them a few days after I requested them. I imagine you'd get them no later than two or three weeks before your cruise.
There are two schools of thought on when to attach them. The cruise line says to attach them before you leave home, and some others here agree. I like to wait until I get to the pre-cruise hotel. However, they sent me 8 tags and it is just me going so I assume everyone gets 8 tags. If any got tore off on your flights you'll have extras to re-attach. Unless you are bringing 8 pieces of luggage!
But you can always get tags from the porters at the pier. They can't take your luggage unless it is tagged.
Did you buy your pre-cruise hotel and transfers through the cruise line? If not, I suggest you wait until you leave the hotel on cruise day before putting on the luggage tags. It's not necessary to put them on before you leave home.
If your pre-cruise stay is through Royal Caribbean, I would put the tags on before leaving home.
