I just decided as an anniversary gift I would take my husband (and myself) on a 4 day bahama cruise leaving July 4th 2011. We got married July 4th last year so I wanted to be on ship on July 4th. I called RC and they do not offer rooms with balconies on 3 or 4 day cruises..Really upset me. I did check prices for Disney (little bit more than double in price) also checked Carnival and Celebrity, But neither ships had you on ship on July 4th.
Any way ANY info would be great Majesty of the Seas..THANKS ALL
I called RC and they do not offer rooms with balconies on 3 or 4 day cruises.
The Majesty Of The Seas has a whole deck of balcony cabins (deck 10). It's just that they are all classified as suites. There are no standard balcony cabins on the Majesty.
The length of the cruise doesn't matter. I just did a phantom booking and got to pick from any category from Junior Suite and larger. The Royal Suite is even open on July 4.
We stayed in what is now called a junior suite 17 years ago. Cabin 1588 I think. It was a nice cabin. You do get two cruise credits if you book a suite, although the JS category doesn't get any of the special suite perks they may have.
I THINK I saw this somewhere else in "posts"..Can't remember and it would take me forever to find it..
Is there a difference between making a reservation through RC (calling them or doing it online) or making reservation while your on cruise? Any incentives, etc? Thinking of possibally making reservation for 2011 cruise when we go this October..
If you book a cruise while on a cruise you get an onboard credit for that new booking. It varies in value depending on cruise length. $50 for 3/4 nights, $100 for 7 nights, etc. I think it tops out at $200 or $300.
I use a cruise specialist for my cruise bookings. If I happened to make a booking on a cruise, I can have the booking assigned to my agent and she gets the commission.
Any personal info regarding walkie talkies? I am thinking of buying a pair cause cell phones won't work. Not really a big issue with me. I may go off to work out by myself, then get distracted by coffee, then may sit somewhere to "watch people"..All while husband is sleeping. Was looking at good cheap set..May not use all the time..Maybe once or twice a day for a "Where are you" check. Thanks
It is much cheaper in the long run to buy your own than rent them on the ship. I have a Motorola set I bought several years ago, but we haven't brought them on a cruise for probably 3 years now. It's just another thing to hassle with. If you do use them just remember to not have them loud.
Also - there are two frequency ranges (FRS and GMRS) and some radios have both. Legally speaking, you can only use the FRS channels unless you have an FCC license, which is needed to use GMRS frequencies. Also note that in some countries the use of radios is illegal. You can google the FRS and GMRS to read more.
The Majesty of the Sea is a nice ship. The stops it makes at each port offers lots of things to do. I have sailed on the Majesty twice, the second time was this spring and I thought the quality of entertainment was poor. Not nearly as professional as what they offered three years ago. Aside from that, the food is delicious, the staff is great. You will have a nice experience. Suggestion when you go to Nassau (others may disagree with me), I would not recommend that you plan on spending the day shopping. The business district is close to the port and consist mainly of jewelry stores. If you really want to see Nassau, I would recommend the tours that they offer ($20 per person). The tour guides will be all over the port encouraging you to take one of their 2 hour tours and people who have taken it, tell me it is worth it.
