Room Service Fees Midnight to 5:00AM!!!!!!!!!!

RCCL's Jewel is charging room service fees from midnight to 5:00AM!!!!!!!! Are all RCCL ships beginning this practice? I just booked a cruise with RCCL and will probably change it because of this fee.

Actually RCI started doing this fleetwide at the beginning of this year - 9 months ago. It is $3.95 per order which includes tip.

In reality do you really think you will be ordering room service during those hours?

And even without the fee, I would probably tip $3-$4 anyway.

If I'm in a mood to eat something after midnight, I'd be more that happy to pay someone to bring me an order. I believe the price Dave gave is per delivery. So, if two or more people order in the same cabin, the price is still only $3.95. If you still feel you will probably change it, I don't know how any cruise line will ever be good enough.

Yes, a single sandwich plate or one for each person in the cabin, the total price would still be $3.95. It is more correct to call it a delivery fee.

Actually, I do order room service occasionally after Midnight on another Cruise Line. The order is often 3 - 4 items for two people. So I tip them about that much anyway. I definitely would not change my cruise because of it. Just my humble opinion.

Imagine all the unattended tweens and over-revelers who order room service during those hours and tip nothing out of ignorance or alcohol driven incompetence. So now an automatic tip has been added. THis is not a deal breaker, and is a kindness to really hard working people to have this little insurance of compensation for goo service.

There are times I do order after 12:00 midnight and have always tipped. After reading the feedback I forgot that there are some who don't tip so I suppose it is a fair and resonable service charge. I suppose $3.95 sounds better than $4.00
