Im still waiting for answers to my questions -
why did they book royal caribbean after 5 cruises elsewhere? Why did ALL the staff want to get off? Adding to that Id like to know why this person is being derogatory (spelt wrong im sure) to older cruisers, referring to them as being able to gum down on their food,

Why refer food as SLOP?

So mad, I genuinely hope that others who are considering Royal Caribbean that this post will be disregarded. How could EVERYTHING be bad. Hes lucky he has a wife that he enjoyed spending time with, Im sure she must be royalty or she wouldnt be good enough.

Sorry Easymark, I don't think you were even on a ship; you must have jumped a freightliner instead !

As Dave said, I would let the post stay put as well. The other posts, all of them, point to a different outcome. I am an assistant administrator for a large offroad site and this is exactly how we handle posts like these.

Now, back to the review. My daughter had never been on a cruise before and we took the Liberty, sister ship to Indy, in December of 2007. All the staff treated her like a princess, we had great food and great service and none of us wanted to leave at the end of the cruise. You can always have an "off" cruise but the worst cruise I have ever had was great and the best was spectacular!!

To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant. Maybe a few unwatered down cocktails help to induce this condition! Well, I'm not heeding easymark's advice because in 69 days we will be on Independence enjoying another wonderful RCL cruise!

I, too, am wondering about Easymark's previous cruises to which he compares his Indy cruise: Specifically, which lines, accomodations, price points, etc. is he comparing?

Although he has given himself the designation of a "seasoned traveler", methinks the three trips to Europe and the fact that he lived in Japan for three years doesn't seem to provide the necessary expertise with which to compare his cruising experiences.

I trust that he will be forthcoming in answering Corkgirl's questions in a responsibile manner, and not just throw this grenade into the forum and just walk away.

His response (or non-response) will be a sure way to determine the level of the poster's integrity and maturity, and most importantly, the degree of reliance which we will place on his original commentary.

Let's hope so (to the former). It's been less than 24 hours since he's posted, and there are many questions that await. Let's be patient. To reiterate what Dave said, we do not want to get in the way of anyone expressing opinions, whether we agree with them or not, so long as they stay within forum guidelines.

Maybe it was Holland America or one of the more luxury lines, Im so in Love with RCCL I wouldnt not even consider another line 'just in case' it wouldnt be as good as RCCL. I just find that signing up especially to put in such a negative review is a shame. Considering that he obviously didnt research, if he did he would find that for a few dollars more he could upgrade to Chops Grille, or that the windjammer was never ever 24 hours, or that he could get his apple in the morning and put it in his bag for the afternoon zzz

Like my mother says you just cant please everyone.

2 of our top 3 cruise experiences have been on the Freedom and the Liberty, and we cannot wait for our Independence trip in Feb!!
We have been pleasantly surprised by the level of service and the food on both trips.
Sorry you had such a negative experience.

I will add that 6 wks after we went on the Liberty, we went on the Westerdam, and found the service was not as good as it had been on the Liberty...
Just sayin'....
