disembarking

I will be docking at 5 am in Civitavecchia italy at 5 am , does anyone know how long it will take to disembark?? Royal Caribbean changed the docking time within the last 2 weeks and my original plane reservations are now very tight to make.

It all depends on when the ship is cleared. You can ask them to put you in the early group by explaining your problem or you can do self-debarkation if you can carry all your own luggage.

Do you have transfers booked through the cruise line or are you doing your own transfer to the airport? It looks like the cruise line doesn't recommend a flight before 10:00AM.

Normally, and I do mean normally, it takes about 2-3 hours to clear the ship and debark all the passengers. However, we have sat many times for 3-4 hours waiting to debark. It will depend on how many ships are in port that day, whether the officials are happy, if someone has not called in sick, how many "special" cases they have to work, etc. I do hope you haven't booked a flight before 10am, but if you have be prepared to pay to change the flight (call to see how much the charge will be so you know for sure).
