Can someone give me their thoughts on this ship?
We love Bermuda and this one is leaving out of Norfolk, VA about a 15 minute drive to the Pier. Is this ship still in nice condistion etc,
It sure would be easy to just grab a bag and go....
I was just on the Enchantment back in September when she sailed out of Fort Lauderdale. This was a great ship! Don't know if the crew will be changing with her relocation to the mid-Atlantic. It underwent a huge renovation back in the mid 2000's, and I found it to be a great ship! There may be a few areas where the ship may show it's age, but overall, it is still in good condition.
Not sure if you're looking for anything specific, but overall, it was a great crew when I was on it, and no complaints. There's quite a variety of food choices. Main dining room, Windjammer, Choppe's (?) Grill, Seattle's Best Coffee, and Ben and Jerry's.
There's also a number of different lounges on the ship, depending upon what you like in the evening, in terms of music.

For Choppes, there is a cover charge, but according to the cruise director, the cover charge is well worth it. I haven't tried it; I've always gone to either the Windjammer or the dining room.

I believe the charge is about $25@, and, having eaten there the last three times we've cruised, it is WELL WORTH the small extra money.
Never been to Portofino's, but I hear it's worth the money also.
Have a great Cruise!!
janfred - The RCCL Enchantment is a very nice ship, we went out on her to the Western Caribbean in late Fall 2005 about 6 weeks after she completed her "stretching"! She is quite comfortable and the Chops Grille is top notch dining!! You'll love her!!!
We were on the Enchantment in July and had a great time. After travelling on the larger RCCL ships we weren’t sure what to expect but we weren’t disappointed.
We found the crew to be very personable from cabin steward to captain. The Captain was younger than most and participated in the pool games as well as the 70’s party. The Cruise Director was often mingling with passengers before or after events.
Chops was excellent and we were fortunate enough to have a waiter in Chops that was our waiter on a previous cruise.
