Think it's also in response to the number of people I've seen that were throwing one towel in the bin and grabbing 3 clean towels. I even heard a very nicely dressed woman say to her small child, when the child asked why they were getting 3 towels, "one's for Daddy and Mommy's taking these to the room to put in the luggage."..stealing them. This will just keep everyone a little more honest and will cut down on the chair hogs out by the pool.

The "Towel Police" were doing their job when I was on the Oasis....Good for them...Leave youre towel for more than an hour and they were
gone:-)...
Great policy....and On the Oasis, they scanned almost everything.....Happy Sailing to Us All...

Thanks for that update Berick, even though it was on a different class of ship that I'll be on in October in a few weeks.

Anyone know if staff is going to have a problem if I want to get a clean towel each day? Example, check out one towel for the first day ashore, at Labadee. Then come back after Labadee, and swap it out for when we're at Ocho Rios, then repeat the same process for when we go to Grand Cayman.

Just wondering if I should check out more than one, or just one, and keep stating I would prefer a clean one for the next day.

You can check out as many towels as you want and as often as you want - just make sure you return as many as you checked out before the end of the cruise. There also should be special towels for the ports in your room. I don't think I ever had to go to the pool area to get any towels to take ashore. I never pay any attention to thinks like that, thats why I bring Esther along. It's a good thing she doesn't read by posts

Still have to go check out towels for shore excursions on the cruises I've been on. In fact, on Monarch they had a towel station on deck 4 early one morning for those that didn't want to go up to the pool deck.

Maybe Ester is taking such great care of you that you didn't notice she picked them up . OR, maybe it's a D+ perk that they provide them in the rooms for shore excursions

Took an RC cruise from Sydney to Honolulu with stops in Polynesia.
You CAN take towell off the ship as long as you return them. If you do not - you get charged for them.
