Voyager Of The Seas Will Cruise From New Orleans

Welcome news for New Orleans as the city continues to see it's tourism industry recover. RCI has committed to homeport the Voyager Of The Seas in New Orleans for the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 winter seasons, with options for future years. I am personally happy about this because I now have an RCI ship within reasonable driving distance.

Yes indeed, New Orleans is a great place for a pre- or post-cruise visit. We spent two days there before our last cruise from New Orleans. For us it is maybe another hour or so on the road as compared to our drive to Mobile for cruises.

I like the move too. Much shorter flight than Florida and not as long to get out of the Gulf than Houston I'm sure. Also, a fun place for pre and post cruise as Dave said.

That also explains Mariner going to Galveston.
