On Deck 11 there is a small area that looks down into the bridge. Frankly the officers don't like it and it was eliminated on the Freedom and Oasis class ships.
I spent ages looking for this viewing window on the Liberty...but there wasn't one unfortunately. I did get a wave from the captain on the Navigator...he didn't seem too bothered about me peering into the bridge...must have been a quiet day!!!
I attended a meeting with Captain Bill Wright on the inaugural Freedom Of The Seas voyage. He was asked about the "peekaboo" bridge being missing and told us that it was not popular with the crew. I think he also mentioned something about security, but then if that was a problem you'd think they'd close the viewing areas on the Voyager class.
Some ships on other lines have a viewing area with curtains on the inside that are pulled shut whenever they get busy on the bridge so as not to be distracted - a good compromise.
Remember when they actually gave Bridge Tours??
Times are a changing...plus I don't think I would want someone peeking at me while I was working...or not working....
They still do bridge tours on all ships. The only catch is you have to book a suite or in our case be Diamond Plus. The behind the seens tour we like most is the galley
On my last cruise, one of the bingo prizes was a tour of the bridge. According to the cruise director at the time, they used to do bridge tours quite often, but after 9/11, I guess they scaled back considerably with security concerns.

RCI also offers a behind the scenes tour of the entertainment venues, which is for diamond and diamond plus members. I assume it also includes suite guests. I am really looking forward to doing it on the Allure next year.
We did an entertainment behind the scenes tour on the Oasis...well worth the time spent...Got a chance to meet the two lead cast members of Hairspray and really had a nice chat with them...turned out most of the cast members were in the rooms all around our room....Can't wait to meet the cast of Chicago on the Allure....happy sailing...
