Has anyone out there had any experience with a Balcony Stateroom on the Back end of the ship? I am looking at one (7688) on The Explorer in October. Thanks in advance for all of your help

Look at the photos and links in this thread and you'll see the exact same balcony. We had 7688 on the Mariner.

We have had these balconies before. The view is not awful as one poster mentioned reviewing Dave's pictures. The balconies can be deeper than the side ones, and we have had less problems with smoker's smells on these balconies than the side ones--people smoke outside and it blows onto your balcony, on the back it seems to blow away (when you are underway). You do look at a little metal superstructure. I guess it is all a matter of what you want.

jodiroadie - To have a bit more superstructure for a whole lot more of an incomparable view with space for lounge chairs and relaxing extra romantic evenings ..... priceless!!! You'll have one of the best cruises in your life!! It doesn't get much better than that!! (Unless drinks are on the house!!!)

Bon Voyage,

Wow-Thanks for the pictures Dave. I think it looks like a great choice for a room :-)
I'll let you know if I can snag it...now it looks like work might get in the way of that particular sailing, but I will look into another, of course!
