Jeans or dress shorts in the main dinning room ?

No, Klinger looked much better! The ballet slippers with the lace socks were really ridiculous. The tutu wasn't much better. He even wore them on excursions, his wife (believe it or not) made his clothes for him.

We just returned from a 4 night cruise on Majesty of the Sea. The dress code was not enforced. We chose to dress up each evening (capris and blouses) and a little more formal on Formal Night. But there were people in more casual attire at the evening meals. The table next to us had high school age boys who wore their caps during dinner, another diner complained and the Head Waiter asked them to remove them. There were very few long gowns on Formal Night, most of the women who wore the more elegant dresses were high school and college age (maybe prom and Homecoming dresses). Hope that helps. HAVE FUN!

It shouldn't have to take a diner's complaint to have the head waiter enforce that rule.

I must be really old. Because my son isn't allowed to wear his hat to the table at home. Let alone in a restaurant!

I agree, can't stand to see someone sitting at any table with the hat on; might as well get take out as they appear to be eating on the run.
