Believe it or not, they do have dialysis on board. It is subcontracted out to a company called Dialysis at sea. They have a limited number of cruises, but they offer services on Holland America, Royal ,and Celebrity. I will be sailing with them on the Statendam through the Panama canal in October.
Ironically, I just got an email of their 2011 sailings. They include the Caribbean, Bermuda and Canada New England of course, but they also have Mediteranean, Baltics, Alaska, and Mexican Riviera.
Thanks for the info Marsha. I guess Royal won't mention it on their homepage since "they" are not going to be responsible. I knew you had mentioned taking some cruises in a professional capacity but didn't remember which cruise lines.
I just hope I never need your professional services!
It's important to ask if your father-in-law needs hemodialysis or peritoneal?
If it's peritoneal that he or his family performs himself, that is feasible on any Royal Caribbean ship, as stated in the column Dave provided. I've made arrangements for folks to have the dialysate solution delivered to the ship, and the passengers just took care of it themselves.
If he needs hemodialysis, then Dialysis at Sea is a great option for him.
