For the last couple of years I've been reading all these complaints about bad food on the various cruise ships. Complain Complain Complain. So I think I have to give my 2 cents and if you are offended....

First of all I started cruising at the age of 25...and since then have sailed on over 35 different cruises and cruise lines. The food is not always the best everytime. No big deal. Compared to a land based vacation the food is excellent. I never hear anything bad being posted about the dining experiences at the hotels or restaurants that people use before and after the cruise. I guarentee the food is not that good. And I am sure that you don't cook at home everyday and have the same quality. And most of you eat at the fast food restaurants....have you posted a complaint in your local paper about the garbage that they serve? My next point is this: Anyone that complains about the food on a cruise should be ashamed of themselves. Your are damn lucky to be able to cruise in the first place. Its not your "RIGHT" its a privelege. Most people in the world can't even think about going on vacation. There are literally millions of people who would love to have a quarter of the food that you eat on a cruise and I bet they wouldn't complain. I've been around the world and I have seen hungry people....Its not a pleasant sight and you will never ever hear me or my family complain about food anywhere. So the next time you think about complaining about the food, stop and think about it....at least you have food to eat. Or better yet you just might want to take a working trip to a poor country and volunteer to work to feed some kids who have no food. You won't like what you see but it will make you appreciate what you have.

Now try to have a great cruise and don't complain. Your cruise will much better.

You said a mouthfull! I agree. I have been on 7 cruises and have loved everyone. Nothing is ever perfect but I sure don't come home skinnier than when I left. Cruising is a GREAT vacation in every aspect. The staff always works very hard for little pay and it is a great value. I have also read a lot of complaints and I must say that I don't know where they're coming from. If you don't like your meal get another they are always willing to please. And remember, it is hard to cook for 3000 people every day and make it "perfect." No complaints from me. I love it all.

I agree also. If I were sailing something like Radisson Seven Seas or equivalent where I'm paying almost $5,000 per person then you'd better believe the food had better be top notch. Heck, at that price someone had better chew it and digest it for me as well. I've had cruise food before and found it to be just fine. Of course I'd expect the cook to have an off day but hey, I'm already figuring I've eaten enough to tie me over till the next excellent meal maybe even millenium. There are so many other food/eatery options that one of them is bound to have something that will satisfy an appetite. If the cruiseline were to charge me for all the food I was able to put away........let's just say I'd sure have a lot of American Express points racked up. I guess I just love food. Maybe I should have majored in food science instead of forensic science.
