I am scheduled for my first cruise in a couple of weeks and I am wondering if it is possible to make phone calls. I was reading some of the other posts and I did not realize it costs about 10 dollars a minute to phone home. I have 3 small children and I can't imagine not calling them for nearly a week. My ports are Jamacia and Labadee, will I be able to call for less expensive there?

KARI,
I WENT ON A CRUISE AND I WAS ABLE TO TALK WITH MY DAUGHTER ON THE COMPUTER. I GOT 30 MIN FOR $25 DOLLARS. WE TALKED EVERY EVENING AT A SET TIME ON THE COMPUTER.IF YOU ARE GOING ROYAL CARIB YOU CAN GO TO THIER SITE AND GET TELEPHONE NUMBERS TO ASK GENERAL QUESTIONS.IF YOU ARE GOING TO MEXICO YOU WOULD WANT TO GET A PREPAID PHONE CARD THAT WILL WORK FROM THERE.
Kari,
I know you will be able to use a phone card in Jamaica, but Labadee is Royal Caribbean's private island, so I am not sure there are any public phones there. I, too, usually like to stay in touch via the computer.
