How's the Mexican west coast (Vision)

My cruising experience to date has been in the caribbean and the med.

We're considering a 7 night sail next fall out of LA to the Mexican Rivera on Vision of the Seas.

How have people likes this cruise (ports and ship)? How does it compare to the caribbean?

I have taken that cruise twice in the last year and loved it! I wrote a mega-review of my Feb. experience that might help:

As for the itinerary, personally I found it a refreshing change from the Caribbean (living on the East Coast, that seems to be where the bulk of my cruising is done).

One thing for sure is you will not have all the rude, pushy condo commandos from Florida. We just return from a cruise on the west side of Mexico. It is a change from the caribbean. No matter what any cruise is a good cruise. Take it for the experience. You will enjoy it.

Great ship, great cruise with fun ports. Take the time to learn ten or so common words in Spanish and use them with a smile when you meet local folks and you won't believe how they respond to you.

Cabo and Puerto Vallarta are great ports, but you have to try a little harder to like Mazatlan. Be sure to visit http://www.MexicoPortReviews.com for tons of information about these ports.
