Dining room attire

We have only taken a 3 day cruise, since the maiden voyage of the Freedom. Kinda rusty about "the rules". I seem to remember a "no jeans" rule in the dining room. What's the deal with that? I want to wear very nice jeans and jean capris (go down to mid calf) that are dark demin, white and gray colored, with very nice dressy blouses for dinner in the dining room. I won't wear them for formal night. Are jeans allowed, just frowned upon?? Any info/advice appreciated. Thanks, Lil' Lori

Lori, I've seen women wearing what you're describing and no one gave them any problems. I've seen both men and women wearing nice dark wash jeans with a blazer and it's just fine. I don't think you'll have a problem with the clothing you're describing.

The main rule is no bathing attire or cover-ups after 6pm, and no cut-offs. I'm sure old, faded, shredded jeans with holes wouldn't be the best thing to wear but I don't think you're talking about that!!

Thanks Sandy for the info. Yeah, maybe 20-25 yrs ago I'd be wearing the faded, shredded jeans..LOL, but not now a day. So I'll plan on wearing my nice jeans/capris with my dressy blouses. Thanks again. Lil' Lori

I'm one of those "wear whatever the heck you want" people. But you are definitely going to be under dressed in denim in the dining room.

Attire will vary between casual business, to sport jackets, to gowns and tuxes on formal night. There will be an occasional couple in polo, jeans and kulats. But they stick out like people who didn't get the memo.

But again...I'm somewhat of a bohemian in that respect. Screw 'em is my attitude.
