Hi I am going on the panama cruise on Jewel of the seas in February. I have been doing some research online and reading a couple of guide books. The feedback I have read says that that is a really good trip and depends upon a little bit of luck as to what animals / birds that you get to see. Would be great to see if anyone on here has actually been to give more indepth feedback. Really excited, not only a chance to do a cruise but go to some really exciting ports as well - sounds like a winner to me!

We did the panama cruise on the jewel last year. We went on an excursion in Costa Rica that was a bus/train/boat trip. They did a really nice job and we saw a lot of unusual wildlife. Just don't carry a lot of cash...when we got back on the ship, we found out another bus had been held up at gun point...apparently they just wanted cash. We took a taxi in Cartegena into the old town to get t-shirts for our kids... a little sketchy, so just be aware of your surroundings.
