Still new to cruisinand still have questions!

We are sailing on the grandeur in Feb. Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Costa Maya. Are these Islands safe? We are looking at Soto's for a snorkle with the rays and renting a car in cozumel. Any comments? Would like to jkeep costs down as there will be 5 of us and shore excursions can be pricey. Thanks for any info you can give.

Just be sure to drive carefully. The is quite a bit of traffic right in town, but once out of town, there are many wonderful beaches to visit. Check out the various beach areas of Cozumel at www.CaribbeanPortReviews.com. You will love Chen Rio if you are looking for a vacant paradise.

All of the ports you are visiting are safe and friendly, but always be aware no matter where you are.

These locales are "safe" if you are referring to ongoining problems. Anything could happen anywhere..Costa Maya is a new port, literally being built out of the rough by the Mexican government. Here I would strongly encourage you to do a ship's tour due to the limited resources available if you get stranded..the ship waits for ship tours, it does not wait for folks off on their own.
If you are used to driving in extreme conditions..ie, fast and furious, then driving in Cozumel will be fun. Otherwise, use a taxi to take you to Chakanab Beach for the day.
