LeftyKick,

"Mariner otS" and "Explorer otS" are very, very similar. The only very obvious change is the different way the balconies are incorporated. Other than that, there are no differences of a scale that would lead me to considering one ot the ships to be less appealing than the other one. These are sister ships, and while there are (virtually) always some differences between sister ships, there are very small.

I have been on 3 voyager class ships. Voyager, Adventure, and Explorer. Of the 3, I liked Explorer the least...visually...but that doesn't mean I didn't like the ship. The art wasn't as spectacular....just seemed kinda rushed. There are actually "art pieces" that are photos of people making some of the other art pieces on the ship. Not just 1 or 2, but 5 or 6 as I remember (port side, aft elevators).

That said, Of the 3, I think the staff on the explorer was the best of the 3. The cruise director was fab, shows were great. Midnite buffet....so/so. Main dining room....maybe this is where the art budget went....Spectacular. Best of the 3, hands down.

So....I guess I really haven't made a point at all, but don't just let the pictures make your decision. Read reviews, and learn from people's experiences.

Final note. I have TONS of pictures. I don't have room on my website to post them, but if you'd like, I could e-mail you some, if you drop me a Private Message with your e-mail address, and what parts of the ship you'd like pictures of.

If you are interested in seeing a LOT of pics of Explorer of the Seas and a few stops on her itinerary, was well as stops on Millenniums Eastern Caribbean itinerary, check out our site.
