We have our first Mediterranean cruise coming up and was wondering if we should get professional help. We will arrive in Rome several days early for sightseeing and have heard that the port is not easy to get to. Generally we book everything ourselves and don't use a travel agent.

I am concerned about booking a hotel and transportation to and from the port.

Has anyone here experienced this port and do you think that we should use an agent or just wing it?

You can do it yourself if you have done things on your own before. Its not difficult. Go visit our European Port topic area. There is tons of information about this there. Read ftroute's Traveling by train in Italy. You have 7 months, plenty of time to figure it all out.

Thank You.

There is some good information in there. Now I'm excited and can stop worrying.
