1st time - Majesty or Sovereign

Planning to go on a 3 night Bahamas cruise on June 9th. Please help me decide between the Sovereign out of Port Canaveral and the Majesty out of Miami. This is the first cruise for me and my wife. We are in our early 30's.

They are sister ships with just a small difference in their gross tonnage. The Majesty was built in 1992 and refurbished in 2002. The Sovereign was built in 1988 and refurbished in 2004. On the 3nt you will go to the same places on either ship. If you are flying in, then Miami would be easier and cheaper to get to the port over Canaveral.

Thanks. I've pretty much decided on the Majesty out of Miami and plan on spending a couple of nights in South Beath pre-cruise.

One other question - should I be concerned about the weather in Miami and the Bahamas in June? Looks like it's the month with the most rain.

My information shows that the summer months are the most rainest in Miami. But I think it's just hit and miss as to if you will have rain or not. Just like hurricane season. I think our whole weather system is just unpredictable anymore. Our winters here in Michigan have been quite mild the last few years. I sold my snowmobile!

I've been on the Majesty a couple times. The last time was on their very last 7 day cruise before the big mega ships took over. That cruise was the best cruise I'd ever been on though the ship was feeling it's age. I believe it was refurbished shortly after that.

We sailed out a Port Canaveral last year and like it more than Miami.

WAS ON THE MAJESTY IN MARCH,06. TOOK THE 4NT. CRUISE..IT WAS A GREAT CRUISE AND SHIP. THE SHIP IS STILL IN VERY GOOD TO EXCELLENT SHAPE AND VERY CLEAN! ROOMS OUR SMALL BUT VERY FUNCTIOAL.
MIAMI IS FUN. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO BAYSIDE MARKET PLACE . EAT AT BUBBA GUMPS(LOTS OF FUN) AND TAKE A SIGHTSEEING CRUSE IN THE EVENING.
