Adventure of the Seas 9/7/03 Good time to go?

I have booked a cruise to the Southern Caribbean for September 7, 2003 on the Adventure of the Seas. Is this typically a bad time to go (i.e. hurricane season)? The price for a mini suite was half of a July cruise. This was a big factor, as the wife and I have gone on two previous cruises in July (NCL Norway 2001 to E. Caribbean and Carnival Victory 2002 to W. Carribean). We also figured everybodies kids would be back in school, we just wanted to get away from so many kids for a change.

Cruised on the 'Adventure' this past June and had a wonderful time. I know that you will also, because this second newest of the 'Voyager' class has just about everything you could possibly want in a cruise ship. The itinerary is great too, especially visits to Aruba and Curacao.
With respect to hurricane activity, you might be pleased to know that a big chunk of your cruise will be in waters that are way below the customary paths of hurricanes. So relax and enjoy looking forward to your cruise. Cruiseman

Thanks for the info. We thought the Southern Caribbean was below the path of most hurricanes. We just wanted some reassurance as we have only cruised in July. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the weather on previous cruises out of Miami. This will be our first out of San Juan. We are going a day early to take in Old San Juan. Staying at the Wyndham Hotel and Casino. Is this an O.K. hotel? We just need a place to sleep over awaiting our cruise the next day. Any suggestions on what to do or see in San Juan would be appreciated. We will be arriving about 4:00pm out of D/FW (Dallas/ Fort worth) on the Saturday before our 10:00pm Sunday cruise on the Adventure of the Seas (Sept 7, 2003).
