Just went to the Atlantis Superbowl weekend. It is $4 per person one way. It takes about 5-10 minutes. It is not within walking distance. You can get a nice picture of the Atlantis from the ship. There is a water taxi also, but I have never taken it.
Skip the blackbeard cay trip. They have a day at the beach at atlantis. It is a little costly, but well worth it. They take you over on a boat. You get a lunch and get to use there private beach. We usually stay longer and take a cab back later.
The only problem is we usually miss the dress up dinner.
The snorkeling boat trip is kind of fun to. We take that one in a while, and have the boat drop us off at atlantis.
6 bucks to take the water taxi. You get a little info tour with that. The beach it a little walk from the Atlantis, spent the day there, didn't like it so much. Not that nice of a beach. But it was okay.
We were in Nassau in November and took a water taxi to Paradise Island. Its $6 each way and like Donnaavb5 said, its kind of like a mini tour. once you get off the taxi, its a short walk to the beach. (10 minutes) We thought the beach was gorgeous. we sprnt about 4-5 hours there and they have vendors come around with snacks, drinks... The only problem is there is no rest rooms there. Its a much nicer beach than on the othere side of the Island where the ship is docked. Bigger waves!! You can also take a cab there and get dropped off right @ the beach for 8-10 dollars. Have a great trip.
We have friends that heard a tip that if you arrive in Atlantis early am (ie, before 8am) there are no security at the entrance gate and you can simply walk in, and enjoy the facilities they would charge you $30 pp for otherwise. (once you are in, there is no way to distinguish guests from non-guests).
Perhaps this is a bit sneaky, but I think $30 pp is a bit of a cash grab for what you get ...

Actually there is a way to distiguish the guests from those that "snuck" in. Atlantis has a wristband for each guest at the pool and beach area, you cannot even order a drink if you do not have your wristband on. If you are caught around the water areas without your wristband you are asked to leave. You can walk around the Atlantis and go to the free section of the Aquarium and look at the pools, but you cannot participate in the activities without being a guest there or having a room at the Comfort Inn across the street, whose guests get to use the facilities.
Short of renting a room for the night is there any way to purchase a wrist band? Does any one think it would be worth renting a room at the comfort in for a night to recieve a day pass for the atlantis resort. We will be there fron 7:00am To midnight on the SOS. I have a 7 yr and 11yr old. They would love it there as it would be their first time to Nassau. They are most interested in the dig and the slide.
NOPE, Atlantis has a very strict policy. You can check the Comfort Inn and the rooms usually run around $200.00 + for the night..and that is no more than 4 to a room, and this is dependant on the time of year you book it for. So if you can get a room that runs around $50.00/pp for a day at the Comfort Inn it would be worth it. You will also have a place to go back to for rest and to change clothes. Of course I believe that Comfort Inn will have times for checking in and checking out. So you will have to weigh it out to see if it is worth it.
