RCI has added an option to purchase soda packages prior to your cruise starting. Access your booking at the RCI website and you'll see a new button for "Fountain Soda Packages" under Cruise Enhancements.

While you can still buy them aboard ship, the new option will make things easier since the cruise card for those with the package will be pre-printed with the soda stamp and the complimentary cup will be in your cabin on embarkation day.

I just checked my current booking and while it is there, I can't buy one for my son yet because we haven't paid the cruise balance.

Is this a good deal? I looked and for my cruise its like $82... I'm not sure if I would drink that much pop.

Dave 03-28-2009 02:05 PM

Whether it is a good deal depends on the person. For me it isn't. For my son it is.

I do like the option to do it on-line and avoid the usual crowd on embarkation day to get the soda stamp. Plus they can run out of the souvenir cups and this way you are ensured of getting one.

One thing I've wondered - can just one person in a group (family) buy the soda package? Or does everyone on a reservation have to be included in it? I drink mostly water and tea, but I know my kids might like the soda.

Nceremuga 03-30-2009 01:27 PM

When we went on our first cruise a friend suggested that me and my fiance share our soda package. We only bought one it went on my fiance's seapass (the sticker)we were together when we bought the one for him. Even if I used his seapass waiters still gave me the soda, we shared openly and no one ever said anything to us. Since then we have just shared on cruises.

There might be actual rules out there for it I am not sure I will try and find something

Lizardeye 03-30-2009 01:42 PM

I am wonder if I only drink water and regular coffee, do I need the Soda package?

Dave 03-30-2009 03:51 PM

It is against the rules to share a soda card. Each person is supposed to have their own. This is why they put a stamp on the individual cruise cards. It is against our forum policy to endorse anything other than the official rules of the cruise lines.

If you don't drink a lot of soda it is not a good deal. Most people who buy them are wasting their money unless you drink a case of soda in 7 days.
