ROOM SERVICE

We are interested in having room service once or twice on our upcoming cruise, just to try it out. Please tell me if an additional tip is necessary for the person who brings the food or is that included in the tips that are paid at the end of the week. Thanks!

When we use room service, we tip the waiter since it's usually someone we won't see the rest of the cruise.

my only reply here is that room service on board is marginal at best. its kinda slow and does require a tip. the rooms are so small i always find its better to get out and enjoy, rather than eat inside the cabin.

If you have a balcony, it's a great way to relax and enjoy a quiet meal. We always tip the room service waiter. Enjoy your cruise!

Room service was great on the Navigator of the Seas. Very propt service and very good food. We always tipped a few dollars.

So far I feel RCCL has the best room service. They have a complete menue and anything served in the diningroom can be ordered through room service. If you do not see it on the menu just ask. The kids will call down for room service in the evening. They tell them they want snacks. They have been sent a dozen cookies or brownies and big glasses of milk. They have great turkey sandwiches which is great after a long day in port before dinner. They offer a full breakfast menu which Carnival and NCL do not. We have always found the service to be prompt. Usually less than 30 minutes. Our waiter who brings it has always been friendly and smiling. Always offers to set it up for us on the balcony or serve us breakfast in bed! We always tip a few $$$s. For this reason we bring along lots of dollar bills.
