If anyone can give me information about RCI's new ship Freedom of the Seas that would be great! http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif
Hey Zach. Royal Caribbeans website home page has a link on it for Freedom of the Seas, beneath a guy riding a surfboard. Click on that for Freedom info. I think that is about as much info that any of us have, unless they are a RCI insider. That is all I know about her, is what I have seen on that link. Maybe other people know more info?? I am booked on her, I can't wait. Lil' Lori http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif
thank you for the information http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif
Go to google or google images and punch in Freedom of The Seas. You should be able to find some pictures of Freedom under construction.
This is the official website of the shipyard charged with building Freedom. They have video, pics, and descriptions. All the pics and video are at least 5 times higher quality than RCCL. Honestly, it seems that RCCL is really trying to NOT let the public know about their new product. An odd form of advertising, in my opinion.
There are several High Res pics, if you click on "newsroom" at the top of the page, a link to "Image bank" will appear underneath it. Click there. A side bar will appear with links to cruise vessels, naval craft, etc.
Aside from the pics of freedom, the pics offered of their 3 shipyards are stellar!
Hi Zach W
Just go to http://www.freedomoftheseas.com and all the information is there. In addition, the new agency books are avaiable at your local travel agency.
Don't take this the wrong way, I mean no offense toward you, but freedomoftheseas.com is about the worst place on the web to try to find info about the ship.
Royal caribbean has done a masterful job of keeping everything about this ship a secret. Still, there are no FULL deck plans, and we still don't know all of the ammenities. I'm really kinda dissapointed with RCCL with the way they've promoted this thing. This keeping secrets thing is really getting old. The pics and videos that they've posted are paltry in quality, compared to what can be found elsewhere. I mean come on....who really want to watch the ship construciton video in a 20 x 20 pixel box? Or look at stills locked in a flash animation that are all grainy and hard to see? I'm really dissapointed in them.
P.S. DYG, do the new agency books have full uncensored deck plans yet?
The website has all the information you need including the ship's layout. Your computer need some type of player and you would have to click back to the original screen each time you want info (once you click on something it takes you to a different window - you have to return to the first).
But anyway here's the information you are looking for:
Length: 1,112 feet
Beam: 126.64 feet
Draught: 28 feet
Cruising Speed: 21.6 knots
Ice-skating rink, rock-climbing wall, Royal Promenade (open 24 hours), extensive WiFi capabilities and connectivity for cell phones, full-sized, flat-screen TVs in every stateroom, theme bars and lounges, Adventure Ocean youth facilities, restaurants, and much more!
Dedicated meeting space with breakout rooms and reception area. More details to come!

I forgot the main attraction - which was the big secret - SURFING ON BOARD THE SHIP.
<<P.S. DYG, do the new agency books have full uncensored deck plans yet?>>
PMFJI, there's actually a bit of controversy about the new brochures, because I've heard that they don't have deck plans at all! Agents and clients are supposed to go onto Royal Caribbean's web site and find deck plans there.
After a lot of complaints, I understand the newest brochures will, once again, have deck plans. However, right now, travel agents are getting the same deck plan for Freedom of the Seas, with the same blank areas, as everyone else.
