Newbie with questions

First of all... this site is awesome!!!! Let me also say that this will be our first cruise... ever. We have narrowed it down to the following:

1) Eastern or Western Caribeean on the Explorer - any thoughts on which is better?

2) Debating between the Grand Ocean View Suite and Superior Ocean View Suite - does anyone have any experiences with these suites? The only difference I can see is that the Grand has concierge service.

3) If we do get the concierge service, what does that consist of?

I also would appreciate any tips/advice on this ship or cruising in general.
