Cutting back on perks and raising booking prices doesn't sound like they have a gifted marketing department. I talked to my best cruising buddy today, and he told me that he and his wife won't be doing any more cruises with us unless it's with another cruise line that Royal Caribbean. It's hard for me to believe that they'll continue to sail with full ships week after week. There has to be a big drop off in bookings, and tons of cancellations on existing bookings. Way to go you marketing guru's.

My TA told me last night that his phone is ringing off the wall....lot's of frustrated and upset people. He wasn't very happy that RCL didn't give the TAs a hint of some FAQs of what was going to happen so they could answer folks questions.

LOL...anyone want a cap....I think I have 10 or 12
You know it's not the point...I'm always happy to use my RC beach bag when on a Princess cruise. It rubs their nose in the fact they don't give away squat & I'm happy to let then know that. How much could it possible have cost RC for a few trinkets in terms of the advertising they got back? Only time will tell & I believe they'll find out much faster than they expected to.
My joking prediction of a few months ago - the cruise lines resorting to a keg of Old Milwaukee and a pack of plastic cups for the repeater's party - may not be that far from reality.
I'm really wondering if RCI will renege on this decision base upon the feedback of all I've been reading. I would have hated to have been on the board who voted this latest cutback though.
Well im astonished with all the remarks of you long time serving rcl cruisers.
I can understand your frustration, but what happened to the loyalty to rcl because of the standard of service and the WOW factor from which the ships have to offer, compared to the rest of the market.
Myself and my wife have only been cruising for 4 years, next year we will be diamond members after our back to back oasis cruise.
The perks are a extra bonus to us,
So i am just greatful i can still afford to appreciate rcl cruises, in this global crisis.

The only perk that I see left is the balcony discount and the diamond lounges on the Freedom class ships and Oasis. That's it. So my question is...where is Royal's loyalty to their most loyal cruisers? When I booked Enchantment for July, I had access to the CL on that cruise....now I don't.....missed it by 16 days. We're still cruising Royal but, we going to see what else is out there to compare it to....Why Not?

Chris..well said !! Loyalty perks don't mean anything to us either. We plan our cruises on the ports we want to go to and the price, thats the perk for us. There's not a company anywhere right now thats not cutting cost everywhere they can.
