Royal Caribbean - St Marten

Hi guys,

been watching some videos online of ships and excursions in st marten, can you tell me if there is a beach where the planes are nearly touching peoples heads as its coming into land on the runway nearby, I love planes and would love to see this, seen it on youtube but not sure if it was made up or not.

No. The pier is not near the airport. Queen Julianna airport is about 10 miles west of the pier as the crow flies.

Take the minibus from Philipsburg that's cheaper. On our way back we were the last passengers on the minibus and for 2 extra $$ we were brought back to the pier. We bought something to drink in the supermarket across the street from the beach and sat down to watch.

We rented ATV's and drove to Maho beach after driving to a few other beaches. We waited about an hour but didn't see any big planed come in. There's a place to rent ATV's or small convertables that's only a 10 minute walk from the ship. An ATV is $75, and a jeep is $85 for the whole day. I think that a pretty good deal, and we had a great time.

We rent a jeep or ATV every time we are in St. Maarten. They give you a map and let you go where ever you want. Orient Beach is one of our stops. Here is a picture of the vehicle we rented for $85...
