At least on our Freedom cruise last summer, we did not see the boxing ring used.

I used to enjoy the skeet shooting. The last time I did it was on the Majesty Of The Seas in 1993.

I did too. Like all good things, I'm sure the boxing ring will pass too someday, and be replaced by something else.

So who else has heard the Royal Caribbean cruise line news? Anyone as excited as me? I received an email last week saying they launch two new ships, to add to the freedom class of ships. One of which “independence of the sea’s” will be launching from our very own Southampton in May 2008. May seem a little far away to be making plans now but cabins can be booked from the 14th of this month! Just imagine a brand new cruise ship, with ice rink, rock climbing, boxing ring, inline skating and onboard surfing! I can hardly wait! Hopefully see some of you on board the independence of the sea soon! Woohoo!

here's a link to the Royal Caribean press release so you can check it out for yourself, enjoy. . . . . Royal Caribbean press release
Yes, finally a Freedom-class ship in Europe!
You said the reservation is soon opening, but where?
www.rccl.com or do I need to call a TA?

Can't wait for the Independence!

The boxing ring was used for boxing lessons as one of the fitness choices, when I was on Freedom. I haven't heard of any actual matches taking place.

Europe cruises and cruise/tours for all of 2008 should be available to book as of tomorrow, March 14. Other itineraries will be bookable on a rolling schedule between tomorrow and May 7.

I love to shoot skeet...But no matter how you cook them they still taste funny!

I would probably pay the added charge to see that
Perhaps RCL can arrange Balloon and Blunderbusses (sp?) as a tour sometime

How do they taste? Similar to Snipe, I'm told.

I really like the idea about "mud wrestling" and would also pay to see that. Another late night event of "women's oil-wrestling" would be another show not to miss as well. now that the topless decks are gone on Carnival, maybe RCCL could blaze a new trail!

And y'all came down kinda hard on me (thanks f-mattox), suggesting the risk management folks might go into coronary episodes for the suggestion that sticks, pucks, and a couple of hip checks might be fun on the ice rink!? Geeeeze Louise, Martha!
