So who else has heard the Royal Caribbean cruise line news? Anyone as excited as me? I received an email last week saying they launch two new ships, to add to the freedom class of ships. One of which “independence of the sea’s” will be launching from our very own Southampton in May 2008. May seem a little far away to be making plans now but cabins can be booked from the 14th of this month! Just imagine a brand new cruise ship, with ice rink, rock climbing, boxing ring, inline skating and onboard surfing! I can hardly wait! Hopefully see some of you on board the independence of the sea soon! Woohoo!

Boxing ring? Are you serious?
Now there's something no cruise ship should be without.
I can see it now--"Go three rounds with the Chief Purser and your cruise is free".
Maybe it will be a new way of settling onboard disputes. Don't like the meal......meet me in the ring. Poor service at the bar.....ring time! Rough seas......well you get the idea....
RCI has lost their mind on this one. This is what they should have as an overpass in the HOV lane. It would give new meaning to "road rage".
After having a glass of un-confiscated wine on the balcony you say, "excues me dear, I am scheduled to go a few rounds with that passenger who made a pass at you last night." Meet me at the hot tub, or ...sickbay. I prefer my idea of hang-gliding (para-sailing) over the pool deck.
lest we forget......years ago they used to allow skeet shooting off of the fantail (at least NCL did). I can just imagine them giving passengers these days shotguns. I guess from a risk management standpoint, a boxing ring is minor compared to the skeet shooting. Chef Ken, not a bad idea on the loaded passengers with an axe to grind. How about mud wrestling????? I would probably pay the added charge to see that
