Does it matter which setting?

I was wondering, is there a better time for the dinner seating... early or late???? As far as service, food???? We are going on Enchantment of the Seas in late February. How about where to sit... any preferences or suggestions????

Both main and late seating have advantages and disadvantages. Main seating for dinner is usually 6:00 PM, and late at 8:30 PM. What time do you usually eat dinner?

Some people like late better because they don't have to rush back onboard from the ports, and they have time to shower and change and have a cocktail before dinner. However, sometimes the main show in the show lounge is before dinner for those in late seating. Late seating diners may not get out of the dining room until 10 PM or later, which cuts down on the amount of time left to enjoy evening activities.

Food is the same for both seatings, except for the rare occasions when they may run out of something before late seating. Some folks feel like the service in main seating is a tad rushed, such that everyone finishes in time for the waiters to prepare the dining room for late seating.

We normally do late seating. That way we can catch the sunset. And like Sandy said we dont have to rush back to the ship. As far as where to sit the cruise line picks your table. However if you want a different spot or dont like your tablemates ask the Boss for a different table. He will be at the door daily

So is there a "big" show for both early at late seatings or just one?

There are two shows, one for each seating. Usually, the show is scheduled for after dinner, yet occasionally it is instead held pre-dinner for the late seating passengers.

Most of the time there are two shows, however, on occasion, there is just one, and it's late in the evening. I'm just off the Majesty of the Seas on a 3-night sailing, and one of the nights there was one main show at 11 PM.

One night's show had to be delayed to another night. They had just re-fireproofed the stage's main outer curtain, and the fireproofing material had dripped on the stage and made the stage too sticky for the dancers to do their thing! There was still a show that night, but it didn't involve a lot of dancing.
